Alternative labels

Alternative options for using care label in clothes is to print the care instructions in the garment. This would be a more comfortable option, especially for more fitted garments. We especially like the GAP care label that has been printed on the pocket bag of the jeans. It is clear and because of the large area we could add the backstory of the garment with the care instructions.
Using this kind of labelling would give us more freedom to play with the branding and scale on the instructions and add more to it than just the icons. It would be a more eco-friendly version too, as we could avoid any packaging that the labels would be delivered to us in, and the carbon footprint would be smaller as the labels would not have to travel.
On another hand, this kind of labelling would not necessarily be suitable for the kind of garments we produce or to our target audience.
We could also consider adding extra value to the cardboard swing tags. Levi's collaborated with "Edible Schoolyard" to create a limited collection of t-shirts with letterpressed hang-tags. These were made from handmade paper and embedded with organic seeds, which would allow the tags to be planted later on, again reducing unnecessary waste that garments create.
